Doctors are dubious on published medical observational studies in cardiology

Medscape, August, 2023: John M. Mandrola, MD, has raised the question whether the doctors should really follow the cardiology based published evidence in medical journals evolving from observational studies. Robert Yeh, MD, from Beth Israel in Boston has emphasized in his publication ‘Bringing the Credibility Revolution to Observational Research in Cardiology’ (August 7, 2023), that a credibility crisis has emerged in the observational cardiovascular research due to ubiquitous data generated without appropriate checking of clinical data of trials published in medical journals. According to Yeh, incompletely specified questions, addressing difference in groups with statistical adjustments, avoidance of causal language, when the entire effort have a clear causal intent are few problems faced in medical observational studies.
